Holiday Auto Travel Alert in OHIO

Holidays are traditionally a time of travel for families across the great state of OHIO and many choose the automobile—with the highest fatality rate of any of the major forms of transportation based on fatalities per passenger mile. Holidays are often the cause of family celebrations that include the drinking of alcohol, which is a major contributing factor to motor-vehicle crashes.   • Memorial Day – 52% of the accidents are Alcohol related
  • Independence Day – 49% of the accidents are Alcohol related
  • Labor Day – 48% of the accidents are Alcohol related
  • Thanksgiving – 47 % of the accidents are Alcohol related
  • Christmas – 51 % of the accidents are Alcohol related.
